Papers please is an award winning serious game by Lucas Pope set in a fictional 1980s Eastern Bloc country. It explores the absurdities that shape migration experiences, and the hidden agendas and dilemmas that influence decision making at border control. The game will be available for self-directed play throughout the weekend.
Playing this game makes you think about the decision making and ethical dilemmas that a border guard might face while deciding about the fate of migrations. We recommend playing this in small groups of 2-3.
Papers Please is a great conversation starter that helps raise awareness of the all too human side of migration bureaucracy.
Thank you to Lucas Pope for kindly agreeing to let us use Papers Please at Mozfest.
